La Brenta

TrattoriaLa Brenta

Monferrato cooking in Moncalvo, since 1987.

Pasta rolled by hand every morning, meat from the farms nearby and wine from the hills you can see from the window.

Our kitchen

A brenta is the wooden tub that grape pickers carried on their backs at harvest time. In 1987 Rosa and Piero hung one at the entrance of the family’s old wine cellar, and the trattoria has carried its name ever since.

Today their daughter Chiara runs the kitchen. Pasta is rolled by hand every morning, the meat comes from Monferrato farms and the menu follows the seasons: cardoons and truffles in autumn, bollito in winter, peppers and vitello tonnato in summer.
